Heard the Heartbeat!

I had my 12 week appointment today. I was really looking forward to this appointment because I was hoping to hear the heartbeat, and we did! The nurse had a little bit of trouble finding it at first, but the doctor was able to find it pretty quickly and we heard it for a good 20 seconds or so. I was glad we were able to hear it because up until this point, I knew I was pregnant, but it's easy to question if I was pregnant, or just maybe sick or something. The doctor let me know that I'm doing fine and all of my tests have come back normal (even the fact that I have actually lost 2 lbs-that won't last I'm sure.) Hearing the heartbeat reassured us though, and Travis and I are finally telling people we are pregnant!! Yay! I called several friends tonight, and we'll be telling most of our friends over the next week or so. I'm glad that I'm able to finally share this with everybody because it's been tough keeping it to myself and it's nice to have all of your support during this exciting time in our lives!

The Pilot

Welcome to baby DeSavigny's blog. Hard to believe that 11 weeks have gone by and the baby is already the size of a plum. Despite my anticipation of rainbows and unicorns, so far it hasn't been that. I have a standing appt with nausea everyday at 2pm and I've been exhausted all day everday. Hopefully these symptoms are only temporary. Travis and I are both really excited and cant wait to hear the heartbeat in a little over a week. Check back soon for updates from me, Travis and Ranger.
