39 Week Pictures

I took some pictures last night at 39 weeks. Since I was in the same top I wore for pictures at 20 weeks, I thought it'd be fun to compare the picture with these! Somehow, this running top from Lululemon is amazing - it fit when I was barely showing, and it still fits now (kind of, haha.) Enjoy the pictures!

Quick update - 39 week appointment

I had another doctor appointment today - just one day shy of 39 Weeks. Everything went well. My blood pressure was normal, although a little higher for me – 123 over 77. The baby’s heart rate was in the 140’s, and the doctor let me know that the baby felt a lot bigger than last week. She feels bigger to me also, even though I only gained a pound this week.  Also, I’m 2 cm dilated, and about 90% effaced. That means I’m moving right along, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll go into labor right away. The doctor also mentioned that she could feel the baby’s head (which is very strange…) and she reminded me of the signs I need to look for in case I really go into labor this week...aaahh! We scheduled my next appointment for next Wednesday.  I’m not having any real contractions yet, but I’m definitely feeling more aches and pains and pressure.  It really could be any day now!

Nursery Complete

Travis and I finally finished everything for the nursery!  We spent most of this weekend on the finishing touches, which were mostly decorative. We added a bunch of molding frames, the main of which is over the crib. We’re planning on putting her name in the frame above the crib, which will have to be after she’s born, since we haven’t completely decided on her name.  We’re also planning on putting pictures of her above the dresser, once we have pictures of her.  I updated the “nursery” section of my blog with new pictures, so check them out – we think it turned out beautiful!  We also installed the car seat bases in our cars, so we are ready to go!
I’m really starting to get excited that the baby will be here in a matter of weeks, or even days! My due date is only about a week and a half away, so it could be anytime now. Obviously, I’m hoping to have her close to my due date, or a day or two early, but I’ve read that most first time moms go after their due date.  My doctor checked me at my last appointment (on Wednesday), but she said I wasn’t dilated yet.  Even though I’m uncomfortable, I’m not exactly feeling like I’m at the “point of no return” yet.  I’m still working out (went to the gym yesterday and today), and I’m feeling mostly good.  I feel like I’ve been really lucky during my entire pregnancy and it’s gone by really fast (at least the second half has.) However, now that I’m getting so close, I am looking forward to not being pregnant anymore.
My next appointment is on Wednesday morning, and I’ll be 1 day shy of 39 weeks.  I haven’t taken any current pictures, but I will sometime this week (at this point I have to take time to make sure I look nice - it can't be a spur of the moment decision) In the meantime, my friend Kristen sent me some pictures from her baby shower (which was at the end of January), and I thought I’d share, since they turned out so nice! She was about 31 weeks and I was about 35 weeks.  (also...don't worry about how I'm wearing the same sweater in the last 3 blog posts...I actually don't wear it every day, just picture days haha.)

Full Term!

I am officially full term today, at 37 weeks! According to my pregnancy app on my phone, if my baby came today it would "thrive!" It's very exciting to know that I've come this far, and I only have 3 more weeks, or 21 more days until my due date! It's also exciting to say "I'm having a baby this month" (or at least I hope so...) For being this far along, I have to say I think I'm doing pretty well. I'm mostly feeling pretty good, and I don't think I'm "waddling" to much yet - although I'm definitely making a conscious effort not to. I'm still going to the gym and doing the elliptical machine, and some light lifting. I do feel huge, however, and I've been told that in the last month, my weight gain could "taper" and my stomach is being "smashed by the baby" so I might not be hungry...well that is just lies...I feel like I'm the most hungry I've been in my pregnancy so far, and I just keep gaining weight. Luckily, my weight gain had been on the low end of the "healthy" range for most of the pregnancy, so I can justify the trip to McDonald's I took yesterday, for a second lunch. I think I'm also justifying because I know I only have a short time left until our little girl is here.

I finally feel like Travis and I are ready for her arrival as well. Travis's mom came over this past weekend and helped me get the nursery more organized, and we went and picked up some last minute items that I still needed. We also put my diaper bag together, and my bag for the hospital is packed. We picked out a few "going home" sleeper outfits for the baby, and we rearranged our bedroom furniture to account for a new little baby in our room for the first few weeks. It's interesting when I feel kicks and movement in my stomach now, because I can definitely feel different body parts poking out in different areas...it's really bizarre, yet totally amazing to think that I (I mean we, haha) created a little person who's ready to come out.

I have posted a few more pictures of myself that Travis took tonight. You may notice a few things:

1. I am HUGE!! I look back to the first pictures I took of myself, and it's amazing how big I've become in just a few months. For the record, I've gained about 27 lbs (according to my home scale), which is totally normal, but sometimes I forget how big I am until I see myself in pictures or mirrors at the gym.

2. I'm running out of clothes and wearing the same sweater you've seen in other pictures. I'm getting relatively limited on my clothing choices, and I went to the maternity store the other day, and was only able to find 1 sweater, on clearance, because the store totally had it's spring collection out! This is so stupid, because I'm not going to buy spring maternity clothes in February. So, I let everyone know at work that I'm doing laundry frequently, and don't worry if I wear the same clothes every week, haha.

Here are the pictures...
