Our summer is already about half over...but with all of the rain we've had, it doesn't seem like it. We've been busy so far, and we started the summer getting some pictures of the girls at JCPenney. They turned out so great and I'm so happy we bought them. Kendall is at the perfect age for cute baby pictures now that she's kind of sitting up, and both girls are so beautiful!! (haha my opinion of course.) Here are a few of my favorites:
We have these two close-ups hanging in our bedroom in 8x10 size:
I know that I'm going to love looking at these pictures for a long time! Honestly...both girls were smiling, and there may have been a few tears from the older one in between shots (she still doesn't love having her picture taken) but the photographer did a great job making them smile and laugh when it mattered.
Other than that, things have just been pretty routine around here. After doing 2 rounds of the 21-day fix, I'm making an effort to stay about 85-90% on track with clean eating, especially at home, and I'm still trying to figure out how to not spend my entire day prepping meals and washing dishes haha. I feel so much healthier, and my weight definitely shows, but I was so used to eating prepared and processed meals that only take a few minutes, and now dinner always takes 30-45 minutes to make. I also haven't had as much time for blogging because I was trying to get my 30 minute workout and shower in during Kendall's first nap. I'm going to lower my intensity a little now though since I'm more in maintenance mode and trying to make this a lifestyle change and not just a temporary phase. So hopefully that means a few more blog posts in the upcoming months.
Over the Fourth, we went to spend time with my family. Some highlights included going to the playground, and taking Kendall on the boat to watch Avery go tubing with my mom. I also water-skied for the first time since having Kendall, and I got up on my first try and went all the way around the lake!! I wasn't so lucky on my second try, but then I tried one more time and went around the lake again. It felt good to ski and made me feel like things are going back to normal. I think all of my workouts have been making me stronger too, because it actually wasn't too bad getting up on my ski. Avery and Kendall got some quality time with their aunt and uncles, and their cousin Cooper too. It's fun watching our kids at all of their different ages and stages.
On Sunday, we took a trip to Columbus to see a friend that I hadn't seen since I was pregnant with Avery! She has two boys ages 5 and 3, and we had lunch with them and did some shopping. It was fun catching up and meeting her kids, and seeing Avery interact with them. Kendall napped on the way their and the way back...and we timed it perfectly which made it a little easier too.
And to wrap up the post...one more cute pic of Kendall!
