Mother's Day Weekend

Well, it's Sunday night, and what a great weekend it's been! I had such a nice Mother's Day weekend this year, and I feel so blessed to have such a great family, both my side and on Travis's, and of course my amazing husband, Avery, and don't forget Ranger!

Yesterday we drove to Grove City, PA to do some shopping with my sisters and their families, and my parents. We went during Avery's naptime, thinking that she would nap for the hour or so it takes to get there. She decided to stay awake instead, so we were worried that she might be grumpy for the day. She did pretty well though, and enjoyed shopping with Kelsey and Lindsey and her baby cousin Cooper. We sent the husbands to the restaurant ahead of time, since there was a 2-hour wait when we called. We were able to shop successfully, and arrived at the restaurant just after they were seated...it worked out perfectly. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and Avery (and Travis) slept the whole ride home.

This morning, Travis got Avery up, and they brought their Mother's Day cards upstairs to me in bed. Travis was very thoughtful to draw a picture of French toast on my card, and Avery drew some great lines on hers. She also read me M-O-M, and she is getting so good at knowing her letters of the alphabet. Her card had several pictures of momma bunny and baby bunny, and she showed my all of them.

Then we headed to The Cracker Barrel for breakfast, and we invited Travis's mom and brother, Kyle. We had a great breakfast (French toast of course) and Avery gave me another card that she helped Travis's mom make - with stickers! I loved it!

Since the weather was beautiful today, we took the boat and went crappie fishing (if that's how it's spelled?) We caught several fish (including a Muskie) and Avery loved being on the water. We stayed out for almost 4 hours. Then we came home and made some pork ribs in the smoker for dinner. They turned out great, and it was the perfect dinner. My Mother's Day weekend couldn't have been better!
