My Photography Resolution

Well...it's that time of year again where I make high and lofty goals for myself for the new year. This year, one of my main things that I want to do is learn how to use my camera. That may sound silly, but a few years ago, Travis and I purchased a DSLR camera, and we have never taken the time to learn how to use it. Most of the pictures we take are with our phones (because of the convenience.) However, I have been frustrated in the last few years about never having great photos...especially at things like Christmas, birthdays, etc. I decided that this year will be the year I take great photos and learn to use my camera...in Manual Mode. For the last few days I've been doing a lot of research about the best settings (and even  how to change the settings...which we had never done in manual mode) and I've actually been able to take a few great pictures. The three I'm posting today turned out pretty good...with no editing. However, that is also part of my goal...I also want to learn about some basic editing techniques to improve the quality of my photos, especially for the purpose of this blog!

I really like photos that are bright, and that blur the background a bit, which as you can tell by the mess in the playroom, is very necessary. I don't expect to become a pro overnight, but hopefully you will see a much needed improvement here on my blog.

Wish me luck as I research and practice, practice, practice! Lucky for me, I have the cutest models!
