Gender Reveal Party

As soon as I found out I was pregnant with our second baby, I knew I wanted to have a gender reveal party. The first time around we found out during the ultrasound, and honestly, it happened so fast I almost wasn't even prepared for the news. This time, I wanted to make it more special. Also, I figured this would be a great reason to gather family and friends for a party!

In June, we learned that our 20-week ultrasound was scheduled for July 15th. I decided to plan the party for yesterday, July 27th, in order to give us time to make any changes/second ultrasound in case the baby didn't cooperate the first time. I sent out invitations in late June/early July. I bought stationary and made the invites myself, and it think they turned out so cute!

We had our ultrasound, and had the technician write the gender in an envelope. I debated on how to do the actual reveal, but after checking out a local bakery a few times, I ultimately decided on cupcakes with pink or blue filling. I took the envelope to the bakery on Wednesday, and picked up the cupcakes the day before the party.

I was pretty determined early on that I was going to wear blue, and even had a blue dress picked out...up until about a week before the party. Then I got nervous, and started feeling like maybe it was a girl, and also Travis decided he was wearing blue, so I didn't want both of us wearing the same color. I decided to wear pink, and Avery wore both pink and blue.

As guests started to arrive, the majority were in blue.  I have two sisters, one of which just had a baby boy in January, and they were all decked out in blue. We had about 30 or so people at the party, including a bunch of kids for Avery to play with. I had beautiful table set up with the cupcakes (at least I thought so haha.)

The weather was calling for rain, so while we wanted to be outside, I ended up putting most of the food inside, and a few tables in the garage. We actually lucked out and it only sprinkled for a few minutes right before the party, and we were able to be outside for a little while after dinner and the reveal.

After we ate tons of good food, everyone was ready to find out what we are having!! Before we found out, I took some pictures of the pink and blue teams.

It was finally time. Travis, Avery and I chose our cupcakes and dug in....it took a few bites because the filling was pretty light and there honestly wasn't that much, haha, but we are having another GIRL!! Avery will have a little sister to play with.

After the reveal, I became a little emotional. It wasn't because I was happy/unhappy about the news; more just because I am pregnant and this type of news is overwhelming anyway, even without 30 people watching your reaction haha. I am normally the type of person who doesn't mind being the center of attention, but I think this attention would be a lot for anybody. Travis handled it very well, and he is excited too. Even though he was wearing blue, I think he was kind of expecting another girl too, so we are happy.

It was great to spend time with friends and family for a few hours after we found out, and all in all, I had a wonderful time. After going through this, I am surprised about how emotional I felt, but I also feel very excited for another little girl, and can't wait to start planning the nursery!

We've taken back our living room!

Before we had our daughter Avery, Travis and I used to talk about how when we had children, we wouldn't let their toys overtake our home hahahahaha! It seems easy in theory (and in magazines) but it's not as easy in reality. First of all, a baby needs all sorts of equipment, like a swing, pack and play, bouncer, playmat, etc. Then you move on to the exersaucer, and push toys. Around the first birthday, the toys start to take over, but you still believe you can keep control. Add in a few Christmases and the 2nd birthday, and toys were definitely taking over our living room. I had them organized, but even when they were put away, it was definitely obvious to anyone in our home that we have a toddler running around.

We talked about moving most of Avery's toys to her room, and I still plan on keeping some there, but I don't want all of her toys there because we spend most of our days downstairs. We decided to give in and create a separate play room for Avery and the baby. We used the space in our home that could technically be used as a formal dining room, or office - which is what we were previously using it for. Travis works out of our home, but he has a laptop and iPad, and he's in outside sales traveling most of the day, so it's not totally necessary for him to sit at his desk very often. We also have a morning room which is where we have our table, and it's closer to the kitchen anyway.

Yesterday was the big day. I spent most of the day packing up the office and moving things to the basement. I also figured this would be a good time to clean our carpets with our carpet scrubber, so I moved all of Avery's toys from the living room to the dining room table, in an effort to basically move everything out of the living room and new playroom except for the large furniture pieces (I mean, I am almost 22 weeks pregnant.) My in-laws came over after work to help and watch Avery. Travis's mom took Ranger and Avery outside, while Clyde (Travis's stepfather), Travis, and I moved furniture around and cleaned carpets! I was cleaning so much yesterday that Travis was calling me Cinderellie haha. It was nice to get our carpets so clean, and it makes me feel like the whole house is cleaner! Since the carpets needed to dry overnight, we moved all the furniture into the designated areas this morning. By the time Avery woke up, she had a new playroom! She loves it already! We spent a good few hours in there before going outside to play a little bit. A few times she did get confused and ran into the living room where her toys used to be, but quickly realized they weren't there.

Office to Playroom

Living room - toy free!!

We actually kept the bookshelf that was being used in the office and decided to keep it in the playroom. It has both open shelving and drawers, and it looks cute with a few baskets and toys.

Right now our living room and playroom actually seem a bit bare, but I'm still working on some decor ideas for both - like maybe adding a rug in the playroom, and a coffee table back to the living room. I honestly don't want to do too much right now because I know now that when the new baby arrives, my house will easily become baby/kid central once again. I'm going to enjoy the clutter-free rooms while I can!

Girls Weekend!

This past weekend I went to Pittsburgh to stay with my sister Lindsey, and my mom also stayed there. I was going to bring Avery, but since we've been out of our routine a lot this summer, and Travis has been traveling a lot, we decided that she would have a daddy-daughter weekend at home.

I left on Friday afternoon and arrived at Lindsey's around dinner time. Lindsey made meatball subs for dinner, and that evening we just relaxed and talked about baby names haha. We still have no real front runner names at this point, in case you were wondering.

On Saturday, we decided to go shopping at the Tanger outlets near Washington, PA. Since I didn't have Avery, Meesh decided to watch Cooper so we had a real girls' day out! My other sister Kelsey joined us and we headed to The Olive Garden for lunch, and then to the outlets. We walked all around and shopped and it was so nice and relaxing since we weren't on a baby/toddler schedule. WHO KNOWS the next time that will happen!! After shopping we went toward the South Hills for dinner, and stopped at Pottery Barn Kids on the way...just to see what was new :) Then we went to Mad Mex for dinner, and made it home in time for Lindsey to feed Cooper before bedtime. Speaking of my 6-month old nephew, he is now sleeping for 10-11 hours straight at night, and I am so proud of him (and his parents for letting him fall asleep on his own.) He is doing great and he is really cute.

On Sunday I came home early because we had Travis's family reunion. We went to the reunion where we enjoyed lots of great food, and fishing in the pond. Then we came home and went on the boat for a few hours in the evening. Avery and Ranger had fun jumping in the water, and it was a beautiful evening.

20 Week Appointment and Ultrasound

We had our appointment yesterday morning, and it went well. We started with the ultrasound, and brought an envelope with us for the gender. Travis's mom came over early to watch Avery so that we could focus on the new baby at the appointment without distractions :)

The baby actually weighs 13 ounces at this point, and is measuring exactly to my due date. He/She looks healthy, and I joked with Travis that it looks just like Avery (haha...not that you can really tell.) We had to close our eyes a few times for the technician to confirm the gender, and we didn't peek.

After the ultrasound, they took my weight, and confirmed that I'm only up 4 pounds, which is great news for me! Now, it seems like I'm up more because I initially lost weight, so I'm up more from that, but only 4 from my actual starting weight. Travis almost didn't believe it because I have such a tummy on me already, but the scale doesn't lie.

My blood pressure is still low, but luckily I haven't been feeling lightheaded as often, so I'm not too worried about that. My doctor also said that occasional nosebleeds were normal, and she wasn't too concerned. She also said that if I start getting more lower back pain, to stop doing what I'm doing, and do something else. I told her it seems like I only get it from walking a lot, and she said it's normal, but hopefully as the baby and my uterus get higher in my stomach, they will lift up away from that area, and that pain should go away.

After my appointment, Travis and I went to Bob Evans for breakfast, and then he went to work, and I went shopping with Avery and Travis's mom. I'm starting to get excited for this little one, and can't wait for the gender reveal next weekend.

20 Week Pregnancy Update

I've made it half way through my pregnancy, and the weeks are still flying by. Since I've made it this far, I thought I'd summarize what's going on with a pregnancy list that I see on lots of other blogs.

How far along: 20 weeks (on Saturday, July 12, 2014)

Baby growth: The baby weighs 10.5 ounces, and measures around 10 inches from head to heel. This is the first week measured that way...it was previously measured head to rump, and that measurement this week is about 6.5 inches. This info is all approximate according to my BabyCenter app.

Gender: We have our anatomy ultrasound tomorrow morning, but we aren't finding out the gender until next weekend at our gender reveal party! I am so excited to find out with our families and some friends! I honestly have no 'sense' about what I'm having. In some ways, this pregnancy feels similar to my last one with Avery, which makes me think I'm having a girl. I feel like my size and weight gain are similar so far, as well as just my overall feeling of being pregnant. However, there are a few differences which may indicate a boy, or just a different pregnancy...I'm not sure. Things such as how lightheaded I've been, and I've had more lower back pain - like shooting pains on and off around my sciatic nerve area I think? Also, I haven't had any heartburn issues yet, and I had a lot with Avery. One more thing is that I've been cold all the time recently - in the summer - which I guess is good, but I know with Avery she was a like a mini heater, so I'm not sure if that will happen when I gain more weight or not. Anyway, I only have about 13 more days until we find out!

Weight gain: I will officially find out at my dr. appt tomorrow, but I think it's only 5-7 lbs so far. However, it looks like I've gained 10-15 lbs because of how rounded out and tight my stomach is. Depending on what I wear, it is very obvious that I am pregnant.

My symptoms: Basically everything I said in gender above, and I also forgot to mention how hungry I am all the time recently. I've gone through several phases in this pregnancy so far. In the beginning I lost weight because nothing sounded appealing. Then I started eating lots of small meals frequently because I couldn't eat very much at a time. Now for the past few weeks, I feel like I'm eating large meals frequently, and I'm just a bottomless pit. This week I did buy lots of fruits to snack on such as bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and  cantaloupe, so hopefully my weight won't be out of control yet.

Maternity clothes: So far I haven't worn any maternity clothes yet, but I'm not too far away. I have busted out my rubber bands for most of my pants and shorts, and they seem to be working for now. I also feel like I have a lot of shirts that are looser around the belly area, and I don't feel as stressed this time about looking fat vs. being pregnant. I feel like I mostly look pregnant, so that's good. I also think it's better to embrace my stomach rather than hide it, so mostly I still feel like I look cute.

Stretch marks: None yet, and I'm also not as worried about these this time. I didn't get any with Avery on my stomach, and I've heard that it's genetic. I am putting lotion on, but not as consistently as with Avery.

Belly button in or out: In. With Avery it never popped out, just went flat, so I don't know if it will this time or not. My skin is definitely stretching around it and making it a little itchy, but lotion helps with that.

Sleep: On and off good nights with bad. Last week it was bad and I was waking about every 2-2.5 hours to pee, and having a hard time getting back to sleep. The last two nights I slept really well and only woke up once to pee each night, and right back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Well I had two great running moments this week hooray!! My running hadn't been going well, but Travis suggested I go on a Friday evening by myself with no clock and just take my time and try running 2 miles. I went to the Freedom Trail near my house which is very flat, and started out slowly. The first mile was terrible, but I pushed through telling myself I could walk at a mile. Then something magical happened...right before a mile, I actually started to feel ok. I kept running out, and kept telling myself to go another half mile before stopping, and I ended up doing 3 without any walking or stopping!! It wasn't fast, but it was much better than I anticipated. Then yesterday I went again in the morning, and it went even better!! I guess I can still run. I actually ran about 4.5 yesterday, which included 2 miles on a wooded trail, and I felt great! I have a lot of pressure in my lower pelvic area, but other than that I felt good. Both days I wore super supportive compression tops, and I think that helped to minimize excessive movement. I think I can keep running another few weeks now!!

Miss anything: I don't miss anything the way I did last pregnancy, but I think I'm more aware how quickly this will go and things will go back to normal (I mean relatively speaking...haha) I could go for an an occasional Summer Ale, but I'm not too tempted. I do miss being more active and running races and triathlons, but that will happen again next summer. I also miss water skiing a little bit when we are on the boat.

Movement: Lots of movement since about 16 weeks, and I'm excited to see the baby in action tomorrow. I can also feel it for the outside occasionally, for the last 2 weeks or so.

Cravings: No real cravings right now, just hungry a lot.

Concerns: Just a few concerns - hoping my sciatic nerve area in my lower back doesn't get a lot worse. It doesn't hurt all the time, and I'm wondering if it will start to as the weeks progress. Also, another symptom I forgot to mention was that my nose has been bleeding a little on and off (mostly if I blow my nose.) I know this is pretty normal, but then I had a minor earache on Saturday, and I have a feeling it was related. I very rarely get earaches, so I'm not sure what to do for them. I'm going to mention it to my doctor tomorrow too.

Looking forward to: So much! Currently I'm really looking forward to the Ultrasound tomorrow, and find out the gender at the gender reveal party. Then I can really start planning!

Notes from past pregnancy: To see what was going on at 20 weeks in my last pregnancy, click here. I took pictures and I definitely had a smaller belly at this point. However, I think everything expands quicker the second time around.

Belly Pics: Honestly, I don't have the greatest pictures. Travis took a photo of me in Walmart yesterday, with an awesome shark noodle, haha, and I took some of myself today. They didn't turn out great, but Avery just doesn't know how to take photos of me yet! I'll work on it :)

Last Day in NYC

Last Monday was our last day in NYC. I wanted more than just a pastry for breakfast, so we found a deli that had breakfast, and we both had large meals (mine including French toast.)  Breakfast was still the most reasonably priced compared to lunch and dinner.

A few people (including my mom) recommended going to the Circle Line tour, which is a boat tour around the entire island of Manhattan. We bought tickets for 12:30, and packed our bags so that we could check out of our room, but then just leave our bags with the hotel.

We decided to walk to the start of the tour...it was about a half hour - 45 minute walk, but my legs were feeling much better. The night before, I laid on our bed with my legs up against the headboard for about 30 minutes. I had learned about doing this in a yoga class for runners, and they mentioned it was good to let all the blood drain out of your feet and legs. Your feet go numb and tingly after a few minutes, but the next day I was barely sore, so I should have been doing that every night with all the walking we did. We walked the 4 blocks over the to the Hudson River first, then walked north to the cruise along the water, and I am definitely not a city girl, haha. I enjoyed walking along the water much more than downtown.

We arrived to the tour about 45 minutes early, and were able to board the boat and get our seats. The inside of the boat was air conditioned, but the prime seating was outside on the second floor. We took our seats and sat in the sun, and it was hot!! When the boat was stationary, there was very little breeze, and we were both sweating within a few minutes. We ended up taking turns going inside for a few minutes while we waited for the tour to start.

Once the tour started, there was a much need breeze, and it was much more bearable to sit outside. However, we had some people next to us that were pretty annoying, at least in the beginning. They started taking pictures and standing up blocking the view. I thought they would take a few and sit down, but this went on for a good 15-20 minutes. Travis tried to ask them politely to sit down, and a few did, but not everyone. He started standing and photo-bombing their pictures, haha, and I think they got the message. We were then able to enjoy the tour.

The tour started heading south on the Hudson toward the Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It then went into the bay and up the East River. Then it went into the Harlem River with the Bronx on the right-hand side, and by Yankee Stadium. Then we headed back down the Hudson and saw the area where the plane landed / crashed a few years ago. The entire tour was 35 miles, and took about 2.5 hours. I enjoyed it very much and enjoyed seeing the entire layout of the city.

After the tour, we walked back to the hotel, and grabbed a late lunch. Travis was able to have to hotel call a car service to take us to the airport around 4:30, and we flew home that night.

It was a great trip, and I'm so glad I was able to spend 4 days with Travis and enjoy our time together before coming home and getting deeper into baby-planning mode!

Long Weekend in NYC - Part 2

By Sunday (Day 3), I was feeling very pregnant, and missing Avery a lot! However, we planned to go see the 9/11 memorial and museum, so I was interested in that. We bought tickets ahead of time for the museum with a specified entrance time of 1:30. For lunch that day, we went to the Shake Shack in Madison Park, which was only a short walk from our hotel. We had burgers, fries, and delicious milkshakes. We had seen the line for this place on Friday, and it was really, really long, but it was only a 10 minute wait or so on Sunday. We also saw that they were setting up for a gay pride parade...more about that later.  After lunch we headed to the World Trade Center.

NYC Freedom Tower - World Trade Center

We took the subway down to the southern end of Manhattan and headed toward the memorial.  The area that is considered "ground zero" is now 2 giant fountains with trees planted all around, almost like a park. I wasn't sure what to expect, because I knew there was some controversy in the years after 9/11 about what to do there, but I think what they did is perfect. The areas where Towers 1 & 2 stood will never be rebuilt, and they built the new Freedom Tower right next to them. They also built a separate building for the 9/11 Museum, and that was our next stop.

Fountain at Ground Zero

When we arrived at the museum, I understood why it was recommended to purchase tickets ahead of time, and also why they gave you a designated time. They try to regulate the amount of people in the museum at one time so that it's not too crowded. We still had to wait outside in a line, but I think this is a good system to be able to take your time in the museum without tons of people around. They said it would take about 2 hours to go through, and we took just under 3 hours! There was just so much to see, and the museum is really well done. Of course it's very sad to think about everything that happened that day, but it's also a reminder of how our country comes together in a situation like that. Travis and I bought some headphones and started with the audio tour that we could download on our phones. There was a lot of information on the how WTC buildings 1&2 were built, and how the planes' impacted them. We watched several short videos about the rebuilding of ground zero, and also listened to some audio phone messages from either people on planes, people in the buildings, etc. It's really amazing how composed some of the messages sounded, knowing they were in danger.

Some of the things that I found interesting were a complete timeline of the day starting with the terrorists going through security early in the morning, then watching the events of the day unfold. It really brings you back to that day and not realizing what was happening at first, but then figuring it out, and being so shocked, sad, and scared. Another thing that was interesting was a little map they showed with all of the flights in the air at the time of the attacks - around 4,000, and then how they all slowly disappeared after the the entire U.S. was designated a "no fly zone." Seeing that map made me realize how 4 planes could just "disappear" and head for different locations. Overall, even though it's sad, it's definitely worth the time to go see the memorial and museum.

After walking around the museum, we were close to the financial district, so we walked over there and checked out the New York Stock Exchange building. Then we headed over to the East River and and saw the Brooklyn Bridge. We then walked back to our hotel, through Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, and Greenwich Village. We grabbed at gyro for dinner, and just took our time walking through all of the neighborhoods. We had to detour around the gay pride parade...which was basically all day, so our walk became even longer.

We also saw a New York style Home Depot, which I obviously took a picture of, haha.

Once we made it back to our hotel, we were exhausted from walking so much and we went down to the hotel bar so we could have a few drinks...and a non-alcoholic beer for me! It was a very busy day, but we really saw so much and had a great time!

Long Weekend in NYC - Part 1

On Friday morning, Travis and I headed to the airport and had a quick flight to New York City! We arrived in the city around 10:30 or so, and were able to leave our bags at the hotel and start sightseeing immediately! We walked to Times Square, after stopping in Macy's to do some window shopping. I have been to New York before, but I literally could not get over how many people were walking on the sidewalks! I couldn't tell if most of the people were tourists like us, or lived there, or just worked there, but there was barely room to get through that area. On our way back to our hotel we stopped to get lunch, but after seating ourselves and waiting about 10 minutes with no interaction, we decided to eat lunch back at our hotel.

After we checked in, we literally took a 3 hour nap, haha. Travis was exhausted from his business trip, and I was just excited to be free of 'mommy responsibility' haha.  That afternoon, we walked back up to Central Park, had dinner at a cute pizza place, and then walked some more. On our way back we stopped to get cheesecake, and when we walked in, we were offered complimentary pickles and coleslaw...we declined them since we were just getting dessert, but the waiter seemed confused. Our hotel was about 20 blocks from Times Square and 30 blocks from Central Park, so we did a ton of walking that day. It had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building from our window. It was nice to get lots of exercise, but we were tired after the first day.

On day 2, we grabbed a quick breakfast and then went to the High Line, which is a walking trail on an old elevated freight line just a few blocks from our hotel. Tons of plants have been planted along it, so it was actually very nice, and I would definitely run there if I lived in New York. You kind of feel like you are enjoying nature, while still being very much in the city. We walked the entire distance (about 1.5 miles) and then walked back to our hotel through the meat-packing district, and Greenwich village. The area around our hotel (Chelsea) and just south were really some of the prettier areas of Manhattan that we saw, and the streets weren't as crowded, which was nice. There were also trees planted and it was more residential.

We met up with some friends for lunch at Carnegie Deli near Central Park that has been featured on Man vs. Food.  We took the subway, and loved how quickly we got there (as opposed to walking.) There was a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. We were seated, and I checked out the menu, but was planning on getting a cheeseburger since I am pregnant (I wasn't super excited to get deli meat at first...) I ordered first, and upon hearing my order, the waiter said "no, you can not get a burger - hold on" and he left. We were wondering if he was coming back, or if I made him mad, haha. He came back with a sample plate of pastrami and corned beef. I ended up ordering a corned beef sandwich, and everyone else got sandwiches too. However, sandwich is an understatement. There was literally about a pound of beef on my sandwich, and I had the smallest one of the four! The guys' sandwiches (if you can call them that) were essentially large platters of about 2lbs of meat and melted cheese on bread. They also cost $27, but Travis said it was totally worth it!! For someone who wasn't a huge fan of corned beef, I have to say it was really good, and worth the experience.

After lunch, we went to Central Park again, and took a carriage ride all the way around it! It was so beautiful, and a great way to see the park without more walking.

Then we went to FAO Schwarz to find a souvenir for Avery, and bought her a cute little bear. Afterward, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for our big night.

For my birthday, Travis bought us tickets to see the Broadway show "Wicked," and it was Saturday night. We made reservations at an Italian restaurant that was recommended to us called Patsy's. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess asked if the reservation was for 2 and a half (meaning my baby bump.) I knew I was feeling more pregnant, but wasn't sure if people could tell yet, or just thought that was my normal belly, haha. I was excited that she could tell, but also I'm only 18 weeks, and I'm all of a sudden feeling really big. I know I still have 22 more weeks, so I'm a little nervous about how large I'll be, but I'm trying to embrace my cute little bump while I have it. Dinner was good, but honestly we were still somewhat full from lunch.

After dinner we took a quick evening walk around Rockefeller Plaza before heading to the show. The show was amazing!!!! If you ever get a chance to see Wicked in NYC, I highly recommend it. It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip. Travis even enjoyed it, and he's not normally into musicals. We both thought it was one of the best shows we've ever seen. We headed back on the subway to our hotel, and I really enjoyed our 'dinner and show' date.

Where has June gone?

I can't believe today is July 1st!! Honestly, I feel bad that I only wrote 3 blog posts in June, and I am determined to write more in July. Somehow, June flew by, like the start of summer always does.

Last week, Avery and I went to Edinboro for a few days to spend some time with my parents while Travis was in Chicago for work. On the way, we stopped by Travis's grandparents to drop off their camera, and Avery was able to play with her cousin Jadron, who is also two. They had so much fun running around outside! She was a little timid at first, but then started running and had a great time!

Avery and Jadron

Once we got to Edinboro, we spent some time outside, and had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, also on the patio. On Wednesday morning, we had breakfast at the bagel shop, and then Avery and I visited my friend Kristen and her two boys - Nathan, 2, and Lucas, 13 weeks. They live in Erie about 25 minutes from Edinboro. Nathan was very excited to play with Avery, and Avery actually warmed up pretty quickly! They played with some Little People Animals, some fishing toys, and musical instruments. Avery loved his pair of binoculars and wore them almost the entire time. Lucas slept while we played, and I was amazed at how well he slept even with noise (I was taking notes for the future haha.) I loved watching Avery and Nathan play, and other than being a little jealous when I tried to hold Lucas, Avery had a wonderful time. Kristen made us lunch, and then we headed back so that Avery could take her nap. We tried to get a picture of them...but Avery was NOT having that and kept putting her blanket over her head, haha.

Avery and I were able to go for a quick kayak ride on the lake before dinner at the pizza pub (our favorite) with my parents. We sat at a high top table, which Avery loved! We enjoyed lots of pizza and wings, and a hot dog and fries for Avery.

Thursday morning we went to the bagel shop again, and then hung out outside on the patio for about 3 hours. Sometimes I am amazed at how much Avery loves being outside, even with having no toys out there. We let Ranger swim off the dock, and just had a relaxing morning.

It was great spending that time with Avery, because early the next morning, Travis and I were off to NYC for 4 days,  while Avery stayed home. Post to come...
