Where has June gone?

I can't believe today is July 1st!! Honestly, I feel bad that I only wrote 3 blog posts in June, and I am determined to write more in July. Somehow, June flew by, like the start of summer always does.

Last week, Avery and I went to Edinboro for a few days to spend some time with my parents while Travis was in Chicago for work. On the way, we stopped by Travis's grandparents to drop off their camera, and Avery was able to play with her cousin Jadron, who is also two. They had so much fun running around outside! She was a little timid at first, but then started running and had a great time!

Once we got to Edinboro, we spent some time outside, and had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, also on the patio. On Wednesday morning, we had breakfast at the bagel shop, and then Avery and I visited my friend Kristen and her two boys - Nathan, 2, and Lucas, 13 weeks. They live in Erie about 25 minutes from Edinboro. Nathan was very excited to play with Avery, and Avery actually warmed up pretty quickly! They played with some Little People Animals, some fishing toys, and musical instruments. Avery loved his pair of binoculars and wore them almost the entire time. Lucas slept while we played, and I was amazed at how well he slept even with noise (I was taking notes for the future haha.) I loved watching Avery and Nathan play, and other than being a little jealous when I tried to hold Lucas, Avery had a wonderful time. Kristen made us lunch, and then we headed back so that Avery could take her nap. We tried to get a picture of them...but Avery was NOT having that and kept putting her blanket over her head, haha.

Avery and I were able to go for a quick kayak ride on the lake before dinner at the pizza pub (our favorite) with my parents. We sat at a high top table, which Avery loved! We enjoyed lots of pizza and wings, and a hot dog and fries for Avery.

Thursday morning we went to the bagel shop again, and then hung out outside on the patio for about 3 hours. Sometimes I am amazed at how much Avery loves being outside, even with having no toys out there. We let Ranger swim off the dock, and just had a relaxing morning.

It was great spending that time with Avery, because early the next morning, Travis and I were off to NYC for 4 days,  while Avery stayed home. Post to come...
